This post is part of Healing Insights from the Circle, a Veteran Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Group Journal from ReNew Wellness. These reflections are shared to honor the courage, vulnerability, and resilience of veterans healing together in community.

This long-standing male Veteran Group KAP circle experienced one of its most powerful sessions.

A veteran who had always isolated joined the main circle for the first time. He shared ongoing suicidal thoughts and described how KAP has helped save his life. He called the group “church,” naming it as a sacred space for healing and spirituality.

Veterans reflected on renewed confidence, rediscovered purpose, and the group being one of the safest places they know. The anchor metaphor deepened, with veterans supporting one another in lifting trauma piece by piece.

Laughter, tears, brotherhood, and shared meaning filled the space. One veteran noted how group journeys differ profoundly from solo work, emphasizing the power of collective healing.

The evening ended with deep gratitude and connection. The room held what many veterans had struggled to find elsewhere: safety, respect, purpose, honesty, and the reminder that no one has to heal alone.
